Job Description:

Role

Are you interested in serving the needs of millions of customers by building the outstanding digital experience that helps them in financial planning, investing, and retirement solutions?

We are on a pursuit to re-wire our core digital products around payment systems, account opening, and money movement by augmenting them with exceptional engineering to help us on our mission to deliver the best omni-channel experience to our customers. We are passionate about technology but more obsessed around the users of it (developers building it or customers consuming our digital experiences)

A great cultural fit would be someone who embodies drive, confidence, thrives in a closely knit team environment, has a genuine passion for technology and appetite for learning blended with a product centric thinking.

The Expertise and Skills We’re Looking for

  • Proven expertise around front end for Web (Angular, NodeJS), architecting, developing multi-tier internet facing web applications and APIs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics, Physics (or equivalent)

  • Our technology stack is varied and constantly evolving. A great start would involve being adept at the art and science of building digital experiences in one of the core stacks (Web, iOS or Android) across NodeJS, Java, Angular, TypeScript, Mobile Native (Swift, Kotlin), automation tools deployed via continuous delivery infrastructure (Jenkins, Concourse) in a cloud-based environment (AWS - Amazon Web Service or Azure).

  • Regardless of the stack, our engineers demonstrate expertise in the following skills:

  • Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms and software engineering standards across object-oriented and functional programming.

  • Expertise in API Design & Development and Microservices Architecture

  • HTTP based APIs, GraphQL, Networking and how the internet works.

  • DevOps Toolkit (Kubernetes, Rushhour, DataDog, Jenkins, Splunk)

  • AWS ecosystem (EC2, Lambda, Serverless computing)

  • Modern development principles such as trunk-based development, feature toggles, continuous integration/delivery, and branch by abstraction to support performant and collaborative engineering teams.

  • Strong fluency in JavaScript/ES6 , TypeScript, HTML and CSS.

  • Building internet grade web apps on JS client Frameworks (Angular, React or Vue)

  • Designing and building APIs utilizing NestJS, Express on Node.

  • Automation Tools/UI Testing Frameworks (Cypress or equivalent)

  • Technology focused on a consumer mindset is what makes it possible for us to provide a total, personalized digital experience for our customers. Engineers are who make it happen with a strong penchant for engineering, coding chops, an ownership mindset, and a passion for the craft of software engineering.

  • As an engineer or a tech lead, your impact is only limited by your imagination, your obsession towards the details between the lines of code or pixels, your inner drive to rejoice in the success of your teammates and your end customers. We will provide you an environment where you have an opportunity to directly influence lives with your creativity, zeal and your tech mettle while making a commitment to ensure a positive, fulfilling developer experience all while being surrounded by a treasure of support around product vision, engineering leadership and overall associate experience.

  • Depending on the level and role, your opportunities to drive value spans across organizational influence, engineering discipline as well as influencing overall product direction. The financial world is your oyster, so to speak!

The Team

This team builds towards Fidelity’s digital presence. Our engineers enable or lead teams to develop omni channel user experiences and the underlying platforms needed to support our digital presence on a cloud-based infrastructure. You will provide technology expertise, leadership and influencing skills to be accountable for overall technology strategy.

You will participate and/or lead initiatives that supply ideas to improve our products as well as develop your skills, learn modern technologies and languages, and continue to learn while providing coaching, mentorship and driving talent development across our engineering teams.
