Job Description

Sewickley Academy is seeking to hire a Marketing Content Specialist. This role is responsible for writing, editing, and / or proofreading the majority of all communications produced and released by the Academy.

Responsibilities :

• Creating and curating a weekly digital faculty and staff newsletter with direct input from stakeholders across campus including, but not limited to Human Resources, Head of School, Admissions, Advancement, and Marketing.
• Creating and curating a weekly digital all-school newsletter for distribution to enrolled families with direct input from stakeholders across campus including, but not limited to Senior School, Middle School, and Lower School.
• Support communications needs for Admissions, Advancement, and school events and productions.
• Assist in editing and proofreading of all Academy materials, including but not limited to digital, print, event, and community communications and publications.
• Manage the development and publishing of a semiannual magazine for the purpose of promoting the schools accomplishments and goals to faculty, staff, families, alumni, prospective students and families, and the local community.
• Manage the writing of all school publications and serve as editor-in-chief of these publications.
• Serve as proofreader and editor to key administrators in their communications.
• Develop and write press releases about significant events in the Sewickley Academy community and act as a liaison to media outlets in the Pittsburgh area.
• Ensure the continuity and advancement of the school's brand across all platforms through consistent and clear messaging in close communication with the Director of Marketing, ensuring all communication fits the Academy's brand standards.
• Work with the Head of School, division heads, Crisis Team, and other administrators to ensure crisis communication plans are in place and up-to-date.

Requirements :

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with superb attention to detail
• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related field
• Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related role.
• Previous experience in English teaching would be highly regarded.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
