Job Description

As the Emergency Management Director, you will oversee all aspects of the Emergency Management Department, including planning for accidents, natural disasters, and other emergency scenarios. This key leadership role requires strategic planning, coordination of safety programs, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive emergency management plans and procedures.

Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with internal departments, external agencies, and community partners to establish effective emergency response partnerships.

Provide leadership and direction during emergency situations, ensuring prompt and efficient response efforts.

Coordinate training programs and drills to educate personnel on emergency procedures and enhance their readiness.

Maintain and update emergency contact lists and databases.

Monitor and evaluate emergency response procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Stay current with advancements in emergency management practices and technologies.

Participate in local, regional, and national emergency response networks and committees.

Prepare reports and presentations on emergency management activities and progress.

Additional Information

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in emergency management, including planning, response, and recovery.
Strong knowledge of emergency management principles, practices, and regulations.
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective emergency response plans.
Proficiency in utilizing emergency management software and systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse groups and individuals.
