Position Description
- Assist in leading/supervising childcare program activities including educational, recreational, arts & crafts, and special events.
- Participate in games. Teach activities such as simple drawing, painting, songs, etc.
- Maintain order & discipline.
Direct children in eating, resting, and toileting.
- Serve meals & refreshments.
- Perform routine housekeeping: sweep floors, wash dishes, wash crib linens, blankets, towels, etc.

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Experience in a childcare setting
Job-Related Skills:
Safety: Understanding child development and being skilled in providing a safe, nurturing, and age-appropriate environment for children.- Care: Provide basic care for the children including eating, resting, and assistance with going to the restroom.
- Communication: Effective communication skills are crucial for a childcare provider to interact with children, parents, and other staff members.
- Patience and Flexibility: Working with children requires patience, as they may exhibit challenging behaviors, have different learning styles, or require additional support. Being flexible and adaptable to changing situations and schedules is also important in providing quality care.
- Creativity and Resourcefulness: The ability to develop engaging and age-appropriate activities, crafts, and games is important for providing a stimulating and fun environment for children.
- Teaching methods: Utilize stories, books, indoor and outdoor games, etc. to enhance the child’s abilities.
- Conflict Resolution: Children may experience conflicts or disagreements, and a childcare provider should be skilled in mediating and guiding them toward peaceful resolutions. Encouraging positive behavior and good manners.
- Schedule: Follow the daily schedule of activities and any classroom lesson plans.
