Children with Autism have a variety of developmental, learning, physical and emotional needs. As a Behavior/Mental Health Technician, you will work closely with our clinical team to achieve the following:
  • Responsible for implementing behavior-analytic services for assigned pediatric clients in our Hartford office.
  • Provide outreach services to children and families
  • Consult with team members to implement individualized services for assigned clients
  • Conduct visits with clients and relevant collaterals in natural environments according to the needs of the child and family
  • Maintain client records completely and accurately to include: Documentation of forms and regulations regarding intake and discharge of clients; Complete billing documentation according to schedule established by the clinic
  • Adhere to professional standards and guidelines according to respective disciplines and relevant certification
  • Maintain daily contact with program during normal business hours
  • Keep supervisor informed of progress of all clients
  • Meet performance expectations based on part time or full time status, as designated
  • Adhere to provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 119, Section 51A (Mandated Reporter); report all occurrences immediately to the program director
  • Adhere to clinical recommendations from clinical administration
  • Maintain confidentiality in all clinical matters
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision and in-service training as required
  • Participate in program development and team goals
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications of a Behavior/Mental Health Technician:
  • Must meet qualifications as set forth in section 17a-262-1058(f) of the regulation; Education and Experience: Have either (A) A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health field, behavior analysis, or a related field, plus one year of full-time equivalent experience working with children with a diagnosis of ASD, or (B) An associate's degree or an equivalent number of credit hours with a passing grade from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health field, behavior analysis, or a related field, plus two years of full-time equivalent experience working with children with ASD; and 2. 18 hours of continuing education in ASD services within the last three years.
  • Preferred experience in related field.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly.
  • A good listener with an ability to empathize while still providing guidance.
  • Ability to respect the confidentiality of and work within a home setting.
