Job Summary:

An Integra Caregiver/HCA is responsible for providing non-medical services and assistance to a client who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability needs assistance with activities of daily living. The services provided allow the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following:

  1. Bathing
  2. Dressing
  3. Feeding
  4. Exercising
  5. Personal hygiene and grooming
  6. Transferring and ambulating
  7. Positioning
  8. Toileting and incontinence care
  9. Housekeeping
  10. Assisting with medication that the client self-administers
  11. Meal planning and preparation
  12. Laundry
  13. Transportation
  14. Correspondence and making telephone calls
  15. Shopping for personal care items or groceries
  16. Companionship

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide companionship to client.
  2. Prepare and serves meals and/or snacks.
  3. Provide grooming and dressing guidance.
  4. Provide light housekeeping.
  5. Provide laundry and linen service to include washing, ironing and folding clothes.
  6. Provide shopping service to client to include grocery and clothes shopping.
  7. Provide incidental transportation for client which includes visits to doctor appointments, friends, family members, or stores.
  8. Provide assistance and planning of client’s recreational activities and events.
  9. May remind client of medications.
  10. Record and report changes in the client's physical condition, behavior or appearance to supervisory of Case Coordinator.
  11. Documents services delivered in accordance with Integra Private and Personal Care Service policies and procedures.

Position Qualifications:

  1. Must have completed orientation, non-medical training and competency.
  2. Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
  3. Ability to carry out directions, read and write.
  4. Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

Skills Required:

  1. Ability to participate in physical activity.
  2. Ability to work for extended period of time while standing and being involved in physical activity.
  3. Heavy lifting.
  4. Ability to do extensive bending, lifting, and standing on regular basis.
