Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join our dedicated team at our prestigious medical facility in Atlanta, GA. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing patient-focused care to individuals diagnosed with various types of cancer. You will work closely with patients and their families, providing support, education, and treatment throughout their cancer journey.

Responsibilities:

• Assessing and monitoring patient health, including the physical and emotional well-being of patients undergoing cancer treatment.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, while ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop individualized care plans for patients, incorporating their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Educating patients and their families about cancer diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and self-care strategies.
• Providing emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, addressing their concerns, fears, and questions throughout their cancer journey.
• Administering chemotherapy drugs, monitoring side effects, and providing supportive care for patients during treatment.
• Assisting in the coordination of comprehensive cancer care, including scheduling appointments, coordinating consultations, and collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participating in continuous education and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cancer treatment and nursing practices.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and clinical trials as deemed appropriate.

Requirements:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Georgia.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an oncology setting.
• Strong clinical skills, with knowledge and experience in administering chemotherapy and managing cancer treatment-related complications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to provide compassionate, non-judgmental care to patients while maintaining their privacy and confidentiality.
• Proficient in utilizing electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technology.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess, prioritize, and intervene appropriately in complex situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as per the facility's staffing needs.
