Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in Concord, MA. As an integral member of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will provide specialized care to critically ill newborn infants and their families. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of neonates in the NICU, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and compassionate patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide complex and specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns in the NICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing various interventions as required.
• Create and implement individualized care plans for each patient, adjusting care as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
• Collaborate effectively with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, respiratory therapists, social workers, and other nurses, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
• Educate and support parents and families by providing guidance on infant care, feeding techniques, and emotional support during their child's stay in the NICU.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to changes in patient conditions, including recognizing and managing potential complications and emergencies that may arise.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings, huddles, and educational opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

Requirements:

• Valid RN license in the state of Massachusetts (USA) and current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working as an NICU RN in a Level III or Level IV NICU setting.
• BSN degree preferred; Associates Degree in Nursing accepted.
• Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Sound knowledge of neonatal health and developmental issues.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize patient care effectively.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
