Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) Registered Nurse to join our team in Dunkirk, NY. As an LDRP RN, you will provide exceptional care to women throughout their various stages of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for both mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of pregnant women during their admission, including physical, psychological, and emotional aspects.
• Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rate, contractions, and progress of labor, while continuously assessing the well-being of the mother and baby.
• Administer medications, pain management techniques, and assist with medical procedures as needed.
• Provide guidance and emotional support to expectant mothers and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
• Prepare labor and delivery rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
• Assist with the delivery process, including providing assistance to the healthcare provider, monitoring the mother and newborn’s condition, and performing immediate postpartum care.
• Educate new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding techniques, and postpartum recovery.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient-related information and healthcare interventions.
• Adhere to established protocols, guidelines, and policies to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements:

• Active RN license in the state of New York.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in labor and delivery nursing preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are required.
• Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish effective relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
• Proficient in the use of electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care while maintaining professionalism.
• Understanding of current medical advancements, guidelines, and standards in labor and delivery nursing.
