Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Rate: $1950 Weekly

Shift: 36hrs - 3x12hrs - 7p-7a - Nights

Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) unit in Canton, GA, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and surgical needs. Working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure optimal outcomes and promote patient well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients upon admission and throughout their stay in the Med Surg unit.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on assessment findings, physician orders, and patient goals.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs, laboratory values, and clinical status, and promptly report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions, treatments, and discharge plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and facilitate patient care.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring a smooth transition of care.
• Perform nursing procedures and interventions, including wound care, catheterization, and medication administration, following evidence-based practices and infection control guidelines.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary rounds to enhance patient outcomes and optimize nursing practice.

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of Georgia.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
• Previous experience in a Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) or acute care setting preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
