Overview

Working under the direction of the RSVP Project Director, the Volunteer Coordinator will contribute planning and organizational skills to assist in the fulfillment of stated goals of the program;

recruit, interview, place and help orient volunteers; develop and maintain positive relationships with partner sites, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Follow a written volunteer recruitment plan for RSVP Volunteers of Central MA, while assisting existing volunteers
• Act as a point of entry into the program, including interviewing, orienting, and placing new RSVP volunteers
• Upate comments regularly about volunteers and / or stations to Volunteer Reporter
• Serve as telephone liaison between RSVP volunteers and volunteer Stations.
• Schedule visits to volunteer stations with input from Project Director
• Design, prepare and send via RSVP monthly updates to volunteers, relevant stations and community groups; design and send special email blasts as needed
• Contribute regularly to project Facebook page
• Act as point person for all requests for volunteers with atypical (event) volunteer requests from RSVP existing stations in consultation with Project Director.
• Review quarterly RSVP Worcester Policies and Procedures and RSVP Handbook
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree supplemented by related employment is highly desirable. Proficient in MS Office; exceptional people and communication skills;

familiarity with senior citizens, non-profits and or volunteer services desirable; must have own car mileage reimbursed for community visitation.
