Overview

Under the general supervision and direction of the Supervisor, performs a variety of tasks to maintain the grounds in a safe, functional, and attractive condition.

General servicing of roads and grounds throughout the facility to include but not limited to : clean outs, moving, sweeping, raking, mowing, pruning, weeding, mulching, and related tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Required to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment (legal age will apply) to perform assigned duties
  • Operate all equipment and utilize all tools in compliance with the safety standards of operation and utilization
  • Assist in all aspects of grounds and roads care to include sweeping, raking, lawn mowing, planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and other related tasks
  • Report all unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor in a timely and responsible manner
  • Become familiar with appropriate MSDS forms relating to any substances used on the job and follow MSDS guidelines for safe and proper utilization.

Immediately bring any and all questions regarding such to immediate supervisor

  • Attend mandatory inservices
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a manner in keeping with the safety of self and all others
  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a professional manner
  • Demonstration tack and sensitivity in responding to staff, students, clients, and others
  • Adhere to policies of SHNH
  • Uphold the mission of Crotched Mountain as put forth in the Workplace Culture and Values statement

Qualifications

Must be able to read, write, and comprehend safe and proper use of chemicals, materials, and equipment used in the performance of the job.

Some experience in lawn care and road maintenance desired. Must have a valid New Hampshire Driver's License.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically able to use power equipment, in a safe and proper operating condition, (legal age will apply).
  • Lifting / carrying of objects / items weighing up to 100 pounds for 20% of shift
  • Standing / walking 60%-80% of each shift
