Summary
Seton LaSalle Catholic High School is seeking a mission-driven, hard-working, dedicated, self-starter to join our school community as our Director of Finance. This individual should have a passion for Catholic education and a strong desire to be part of a team.

Business Summary
The Director of Finance oversees and manages the financial operations of the school to ensure fiscal transparency and responsibility, compliance with financial policies and procedures, and collection, monitoring, and reporting of relevant financial data. The Director of Finance collaborates with the President and Principal to ensure the school’s fiscal health, stability, and viability.

Responsibilities

Accounting and Reporting

  • Completes monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts

Expenses and A/P Management

  • Performs monthly A/P reconciliation
  • Performs monthly payables audit (including gas validation, voided checks, and check sequence)

Payroll/Benefits

  • Processes and reviews bi-weekly payroll
  • Reviews new/Changes/Deletions for payroll and benefits
  • Completes monthly benefit invoice reconciliation
  • Completes bi-monthly journal entry sign-off

Month-end closing

  • Completes new GL account, grant, fund, project approval & mapping
  • Conducts monthly review of balance in due to/due from
  • Prepares all monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Approves manual journal entries and log
  • Reviews balance sheet reconciliations (other than those noted above)
  • Prepares monthly dept budget vs. actual statements and analysis packets for Directors
  • Prepares organization and department monthly financial statements

Annual (Sept-Oct)

  • Prepares schedules requested by auditors
  • Prepares audit confirmation letters per auditor requests
  • Prepares/updates internal control memos
  • Reviews and responds to management letter
  • Reviews and approves audited financial statements

Annual (January-March)

  • Coordinates budget preparation with Directors based on Diocese guidelines
  • Coordinates budget review with Principal and President
  • Presents budget to Finance Committee and Board of Directors

Analysis

  • Conducts regular analysis of revenue and expense to identify areas for improvement

Process improvement and documentation

  • Continuously identifies opportunities for process improvement
  • Develops, implements, and documents processes to ensure transparency and maximize efficiencies

Qualifications

  • A practicing Catholic in good standing
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting required, CPA preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in accounting, process improvement, and stewardship
  • High degree of computer literacy with excellent knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications; proficiency in Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge a plus
  • Strong organization, advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to think creatively with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to drive multiple complex, multi-faceted projects forward to deliver results on time
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities
  • Absolute confidentiality, mature judgment, and professionalism
  • A positive self-starter with the ability to work productively and meet benchmarks and goals without day-to-day supervision

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
