The Thunderbolt Academy is operated by Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI). SESI Schools provides specialized education programming for K-12 students who require additional educational and positive behavioral support to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting. The Opportunity
As a middle school English teacher, you'll be vital in providing academic, emotional, and physical support to students who require extra assistance to thrive in school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet the needs of all students by utilizing SESI instructional models, strategies, and curriculum
- Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans
- Utilize the school's behavior management and intervention strategies; supervise students and ensure they are monitored at all times
- Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by SESI, local, state, and federal agencies
- Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals
- Other duties may be assigned
The Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning Required
- Valid NJ Teaching Credential Required
- Mustbe legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Dedicated to helping kids work through academic, social, and emotional challenges
- A strong team approach that can flourish in a fast-paced educational setting
