PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with mortgage closing in multiple states
  • Experience using Encompass Mortgage Software.
  • Experience with Mavent compliance reports
  • Experience working with Credit Unions.


SUMMARY:

This position oversees both the Closing and Post-Closing teams. The Closing/Post-closing Manager is responsible for professional, supervisory, and administrative support with regard to the daily operations and management of the closing and post-closing teams.

Primary function is to ensure an accurate loan package is generated for all closings across all business channels to ensure the salability of loans. The secondary function is to oversee post-closing staff for timely review of all loans originated by Servion partners to ensure all loans meet minimum standards for sale or purchase.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Manager Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the Closing & Post Closing Teams
  • Communicate and reinforce individual goals, objectives, and expectations.
  • Train employees on the specific duties of the job, and monitor progress towards individual goals and expectations
  • Assist in the development of junior staff members as a general department resource.
  • Effectively resolve escalations and complex assignments in a manner that is clear, concise, and timely.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide appropriate feedback, and find developmental opportunities that lead to continuous improvement for staff.
  • Develop and encourage various team building activities to bring the whole team together.
  • Handle multiple business, organizational and interpersonal changes or stresses that may exist in the employee’s work, work processes,
  • Create and assign employee work schedules including assignments and job rotation.
  • Maintain day to day communications with team members including providing general technical direction and coaching.
  • Provide reports and keep the VP of Mortgage informed.
  • Monitor and approve time and attendance records, vacation/PTO requests, overtime, and other miscellaneous time off requests.
  • Delegate tasks to employees.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Closing Team

  • Assign and direct work for department staff and oversee workflow with daily review of loan closing pipeline and establishment of staff priorities.
  • Verify loans are closed timely, correctly and accurately according to company expectations across all business channels.
  • Retrieve, review, create, distribute and discuss closing reports and monitor loan flow to ensure all tasks are completed.

Post-closing Team

  • Assist in department file review to ensure loans are reviewed within department standards.
  • Provide guidance to correspondent partners on minimum purchase standards.
  • Work with correspondent partners to resolve outstanding or overdue defects.
  • Use the MERS OnLine system for all required MERS related issues.
  • Use all payment/insurance systems of various government agencies for the prompt payment/insuring of all govt. loans. (FHA/VA/USDA)
  • Develop strategies for the improvement of internal processes and procedures.
  • Develop greater efficiencies using technology and internal procedures.
  • Identify trends in loan defects and work with department managers and correspondent partners to improve loan quality and efficiency.
  • Retrieve, review, create, and distribute reports for communication of post-closing department status.
  • Make risk-based decisions for the purchase and salability of loans.
  • Resolve partner, vendor and internal staff issues as they arise; know when to escalate to Capital Markets Manager or Human Resources.
  • Read Fannie Mae and Investor updates to stay informed on any changes in Government Regulations and/or Investor requirements.
  • Assure compliance with laws and regulatory guidelines.

OTHER DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with closing in multiple states
  • Experience using Encompass.
  • Experience with Mavent compliance reports
  • Experience working with credit unions.
  • Experience managing a large pipeline.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of the risks associated with specific loan defects.
  • Input data accurately and efficiently into computer software systems.
  • Demonstrated MS Office, especially Word and Excel skills.
  • Exchange information and report facts and technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Accurately attend to many details in a timely manner.
  • Comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and to refer them to the appropriate people for resolution.
  • Resolve questions and problems and manage personal workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Time and task management skills to complete loan reviews and remediate outstanding loan defects within department guidelines.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of precision, problem solving and efficiency.
  • Advanced understanding of conventional loan guidelines including but not limited to TRID disclosure and timing requirements.
  • Obtain objectives with accurate and timely results.
  • Previous experience with Encompass software preferred.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma, 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience in mortgage production

Experience:3 - 5 years of related mortgage experience with positive member relations or relative combination of education and experience. 1-2 years previous post-closing or mortgage QC experience preferred.

Experience creating closing packages for conventional FHA/VA/USDA files
