Salary Min $150,000/annually Max: $170,000/annually

Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm; potential for hynrid schedule

SCOPE OF ROLE :

Provides clinical treatment in accordance with scope of practice and regulations governing outpatient care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform psychiatric assessments at intake, for treatment, housing and additional presenting needs.
• Diagnose alcohol, substance use and psychiatric disorders according to the DSM 5.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications as allowed by state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
• Provide medication management according to standard practice; monitor adherence and response to medications.
• Prescribe FDA-approved buprenorphine products approved for the treatment of opioid dependence.
• Administer psychotropic injections.
• Order diagnostic tests as appropriate, review results, and adjust treatment accordingly.
• Take vital signs, perform PPD/TST and IM injections for Medication Assisted Treatment as needed.
• Assist with interventions such as health monitoring, urinalysis sampling and phlebotomy as needed.
• Assist with psychiatric and medical emergencies on site.
• Evaluate need for consumer hospitalization or other emergency medical care.
• Help consumers with transition from inpatient medical settings, set up appropriate follow-up and assist with linkages to care coordination.
• Ensure that the consumers behavioral health providers and medical providers are kept informed of changes in the consumers condition or treatment.
• Monitor the use and status of medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Review records provided by outside medical providers (such as primary care physicians), and update electronic health record accordingly.
• Collaborate and consult with program staff, Clinical Supervisor, Clinic Director, and Medical Director, pharmacists, and inpatient providers on a regular basis.
• Provide education to team on such topics as drug interactions and common side effects.
• Educate consumers on how to better manage their health and healthcare via evidence-based practices focused on prevention.
• Complete tasks necessary for agency operations.
• Comply with NYS OASAS 822 and OMH 599 regulations regarding clinical documentation and billing procedures.
• Availability to provide services in the community (off-site) based on treatment needs or crisis
• Maintain complete and timely electronic records.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Applicants must be currently certified and registered by NYSED as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
• Applicants must be registered, or eligible to register, with the DEA.
• Possess CSA waiver to prescribed buprenorphine.
• Applicants must be enrolled, or eligible to enroll, as a Medicare and Medicaid provider.
• Responds to consumer needs promptly, accurately and with courtesy and respect. Models appropriate behavior. Represents the organization in a positive and appropriate manner to outside resources.
• Provides timely, accurate and clear documentation according to established policies and procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Willingness to initiate new ideas. Consistently looks for better ways of doing things.
• Demonstrates effective English verbal, written and listening skills. Additional ability to communicate in Spanish is desirable, but not essential.
• Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office suite and Windows)
• Works well as part of a team.
• Can be relied upon to be available as needed; includes attendance and punctuality.
