POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our twelve (12) branch locations are one of the top 5 ServiceMaster franchises in the U.S. Our comprehensive restoration services for commercial and residential include water/mold mitigation, fire/smoke/odor damage, weather damage, contents cleaning/restoration, biohazard/trauma/and vandalism clean-up, emergency board-up and tarping, as well as reconstruction services. We provide 24-hour emergency response and can mobilize nationally for catastrophes. ServiceMaster CDR is seeking a full-time Construction Estimator (Write/Run) to join our energetic and dynamic team. The Construction Estimator is responsible for responsible for creating estimates in Xactimate utilizing the program guidelines and IICRC standards. They also will be responsible for overseeing and running the jobs they write. They must be detailed oriented and understand all aspects of the insurance restoration industry. Having a construction background which includes understanding of various types of building construction and materials. Understanding how materials can be affected by wind, water, fire, smoke, and other property damage causes will assist in being successful in this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect and prepare accurate estimates onsite.
  • Document loss with clear and descriptive job photos, enter dates, and upload into 365.
  • Writes reconstruction estimates using Xactimate and other estimating software as needed.
  • Communicates conversations and key information on the job using 365.
  • Estimates using carrier standards and manages the estimate based on feedback from client and customer.
  • Communicates with project managers/coordinators to ensure all required documentation is complete (photos, notes and documents signed)
  • Acquires needed sub bids for specialty items.
  • Adjust labor and equipment costs when needed.
  • Communicate w/ insurance companies, and adjusters via phone and email in a timely manner and acts as a liaison
  • Upload estimate documents into 365. 
  • Review quotes and estimates with the construction project team 
  • Addresses estimate exceptions in a timely manner
  • Complete files upon completion and turn in in a timely manner for invoicing.
  • Prepares change orders and supplements.
  • Explain the repair process to homeowner and when payments are due.
  • Meeting with homeowners and business owners to review the project.
  • Developing a detailed materials list for assigned projects.
  • Creating and/or maintaining a budget for each job.
  • Creating job schedule, scheduling of subcontractors and ordering of materials.
  • Taking assigned projects to completion based on written scope of repairs.
  • Developing professional relationships and working with subcontractors.
  • Responsible for the finished product of the subcontractors and overall quality of the job.
  • Updating production files and paperwork and maintaining detailed job notes including conversations with customer in job management software.
  • Customer Service duties, including problem resolution.
  • Following written production procedures.
  • Obtaining permits and meeting with building inspectors and mortgage company inspectors.
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

  • High school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred.
  • 2 yrs. minimum experience in using Xactimate software required.
  • 3 years minimum construction project management experience required (5 years preferred)
  • 2 years minimum restoration experience required..
  • Good with technology. Ability to use smart phone and tablet
  • Clean driving record, valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • Employee must be self-motivated. Must have ability to handle multiple job responsibilities and open to taking on new responsibilities based on the company’s needs
  • Employee must possess the ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure
  • Unquestionable integrity and ability to work in a family-friendly environment
  • Able to work independently or work with/lead a team.
  • Exhibit professionalism, maturity, and the willingness to serve the customer.
  • Experience managing teams of 2 or more.
  • Experience with entering data using a tablet, laptop, or mobile phone.
  • Strong verbal and written and communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Move up to 50 pounds, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching may be required.
  • Express or exchange ideas with others and receive and act on detailed information given.
  • For safety reasons, respirators, which are used in certain situations, must be able to seal to your face.
  • Inside and outside working conditions: The change of environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
