Overview:
We are Service Metal Fabricating. We are the premier precision sheet metal fabricator in the tri-state area. We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Set Up and Operator to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend and form metal components to specifications. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. We have a modern and clean shop floor and a great team.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brakes
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications
- Select appropriate tooling and dies for each job
- Adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, and back gauge position
- Load metal sheets onto the machine and position them correctly
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy of bends
- Inspect finished parts for defects or imperfections
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating press brake machines
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes
- Familiarity with laser cutting and punching
- Proficient in using hand tools, precision measuring instruments (such as calipers), and other equipment related to the job
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
