Position Summary:

As a Janitorial Foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the janitorial staff within Service by Medallion. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that the facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly condition, meeting established cleanliness and safety standards. The Janitorial Foreman will lead a team of janitorial staff, assign tasks, and monitor performance to ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained.

Essential duties include, but not limited to:

• Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of janitorial staff.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on workload and priorities.
• Conduct regular training sessions to ensure staff is familiar with cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
• Provide constructive feedback and address performance issues as needed.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are consistently maintained.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, and place orders as necessary.
• Inspect work performed by the janitorial staff to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to address specific cleaning needs or concerns.
• Perform hands-on cleaning tasks as necessary, especially during peak times or when additional support is required.
• Oversee the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment, ensuring its longevity and efficiency.
• Conduct periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs and coordinate repairs or improvements.
• Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a secure work environment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain necessary documentation.
• Train staff on the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Prepare regular reports on cleaning activities, staff performance, and resource utilization.
• Communicate with management to provide updates on the status of janitorial operations.
• Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to janitorial services.
• Responsible for cleaning an assigned area (in case of emergency) that include but are limited to reception areas, break rooms, lobbies and other areas of the buildings. The cleaning may include dusting desks, chairs, counters, blinds, and furniture.
• Vacuuming spot cleaning, emptying waste baskets, recycling bins, and mopping floors.
• Assist custodial staff with ad hoc special projects.
• Perform other related duties or projects, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3-4 years’ experience in janitorial or custodial services.
• 2-3 years of utility experience with carpet cleaning, wood, concrete, and vinyl floor cleaning.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor as required.
• Background check, E-VERIFY required.

• Requires the ability to move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials. 40%
• Lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.

• Reach above and below shoulder height, constant walking, standing in one place for long periods of time, bending, stooping, lifting, kneeling, etc. 80%

This job is located in San Francisco, CA.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM // Weekends OFF!!

Compensation: $ 25.80 - 26.80 (hourly)
