Electrical Project Estimator

Serve Electric is currently seeking a full time Electrical Project Estimator with strong organizational and technical abilities to assist with medium to large scale industrial electrical projects. This position will work with the electrical team on all aspects of the project process including but not limited to estimation, scope evaluation, document control, cost tracking, and assisting with the distribution of all required project documents.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Estimating:

· Receive, review, and interpret customer RFQ documentation.

· Create material take-offs and cost estimates for all new opportunities to determine costs for the following: Material Handling/Conveyors, Industrial Process Controls, Industrial Power Distribution, and Communication Cabling (Ethernet, Fiber).

· Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical projects based on project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents.

· Create, Monitor, and Maintain project schedules and Punch-lists by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.

· Analyze project requirements, materials, labor costs, equipment, and subcontractor bids to determine project costs.

· Prepare change orders and contract modifications to assess the impact on project costs and timelines.

· Develop detailed cost breakdowns and proposals for clients.

· Schedule internal Quote Reviews/Approvals with Leadership.

· Keep CRM up to date with accurate information about new and pending quotes.

Project Success:

· Oversee the Quote to Kick-Off Process.

· Review Purchase orders and Service Agreements with Leadership.

· Support of project management and estimating of change orders as needed.

· Participate in Project Debriefs to better improve quoting process.

· Compile and communicate Project documentation, scope, resources, and cost information with the execution team(s).

· Participate in the Quote acceptance process.

Customer Communication:

· Schedule/coordinate customer scope review meetings as necessary.

· Interface with clients to understand their project requirements, address concerns, and provide regular updates on quote status.

· Travel to customer sites as needed to gather information to quote.

· Assist in any project scope discrepancies during the execution phase.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

· Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or Project Engineer in the construction industry.

· Strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and construction practices.

· Proficiency in using excel, estimating software and project management tools.

· Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple quotes simultaneously.

· Have a good working knowledge of the NEC Code.
