Your Role
The Risk Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of all risk management-related processes, activities and outcomes for the organization. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Risk Manager will also take on the responsibility of chairing the organization's Safety Committee and Accident Review Board.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify safety and security risks the organization may encounter. Develop and implement policies/procedures to decrease risk factors and achieve safety objectives.
- Manage and oversee liability insurance procurement, serving as the primary contact with brokers, underwriters and other third-party administrators. Manages policy renewals, claims and legal actions.
- Create and maintain the organization's Business Continuity Plan to ensure our operations can continue smoothly during unforeseen circumstances.
- Lead a comprehensive safety and accident prevention program for both our employees and the individuals we serve. Collaborate with management to establish and enforce effective safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, state, local, and industry-specific regulations. Stay updated on CARF, CQL and DHS guidelines and ensure full compliance.
- Conduct safety inspections and emergency drills regularly, identifying opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Work closely with the Director of Quality Improvement to analyze injury-related data and trends and provide quarterly reports.
- Develop and facilitate risk and safety training as needed. Ensure safety training meets all regulatory requirements related to agency programs, operations, health, and safety.
- Maintain detailed records of risk and safety activities, non-compliance instances, and subsequent compliance measures.
- Chair the Safety Committee and Accident Review Board.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of two years of management or supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Ability to effectively work with staff and outside stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in the use of computers, software applications, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
