Position Description :

Join our team today as a Director, Innovation and Transition in support of our US Defense and Federal Civilian markets, reporting to our Chief Digital Officer, VP Advanced Technology Group. The Director, Innovation and Transition will focus on the identification and integration of capabilities to support large/technically complex opportunities serving Serco North America. Have a strong background in Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, and digital modernization solutions for defense or civilian based operational missions. This position must provide proven success in developing new opportunities to transition emerging technologies into existing US DoD or Federal Civilian contracts to meet the customer mission or expand the customer base. Have a strong government and technology background in Digital Modernization strategy and capability development with the ability to build partnerships with industry and with the DoD or Intelligence Community (IC). Must have proven success in digital growth competencies with the US Federal Government.
In this role you will:
  • Be responsible for managing highly complex technology transitions to support the Advanced Technology Group’s technology development programs as well as all Business Unit’s growth pipeline for new business and re-compete technology opportunities across the US Federal Government as well as potential international opportunities.
  • Lead and support the pursuit of complex technology assessment activities and must be a team player who knows how to create and manage the synergy among various engineering, technology, and programmatic disciplines and provide expertise and advise to customers across the federal government or international customer relations.
  • Establish technology transition teams of various size, scope and complexities working with established contracts ranging from 5 to 250 employees.
  • Use your domain expertise as well as an established professional network to support technology innovation and transition targets of opportunity.
Qualifications:
15 years of specialized technical experience with 10 years proven track record in digital engineering and computational or advanced control theory development for the US Federal Government in Departments and Agencies with a concentration in Research and Development.
  • Domain expertise in digital engineering, Artificial Intelligence and/or autonomous systems with specific expertise in generative AI, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision.
  • Experience in autonomous platforms such as unmanned aerial systems, unmanned surface, or undersea systems, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the leadership team and act as an enabler of key projects and initiatives with a corporate value of over $50M.
  • Proven experience in working with or overseeing technology and integration strategies for large contracts ($100M - $750M).
  • Experience developing and maintaining strategic technology plans, program plans, operational budgets greater than $8M, and developing and measuring performance objectives.
  • Must have excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and highly effective interpersonal skills to carry out daily interactions with technical leaders, business executives, customers, teammates/partners, and subcontractors.
  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or other Computer Science related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to travel.
In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary for this role is $155,473.00 per year to $310,946.00 per year; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
