SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE:

The ideal candidate will be prepared to learn Sentry’s standard for all aspects of the assembly of machines and equipment. They will assemble components according to blueprint specifications, using precision measurement tools to perform quality tests. Our ideal applicant will have some mechanical assembly experience and manual dexterity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assemble a variety of machines and equipment.
• Use measurement and hand-held tools.
• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures.
• Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.
• Identify product defects.
• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Meets acceptable time/work standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPENTENCY:

• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
• Basic math and blueprint reading skills.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Position typically expects one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience based on scope of the position
• Willing and able to work overtime as required
• Possess problem solving capabilities, with a sense of urgency
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask
• Must have a positive attitude, foster a continuous improvement environment and work well with others

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: None

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Temperature controlled work environment inside, minimal noise (no hearing protection needed), eye protection required at all times inside shop.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand for long periods of time, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., ability to drive a forklift
