Job Summary
Job Profile SummaryThe Security Officer provides a physically safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and employees at Sentara Hospitals and Free-standing Emergency Departments.
The Security Officer actively patrols campus and monitors activity in and around buildings and grounds and responds appropriately to routine and emergency situations.
To bolster safety and security for our patients and team members, Sentara has implemented a Fit for Duty assessment to ensure that our officers meet a minimum standard of fitness.
- The four-part assessment includes a response walk, a stair climb, a drag to safety and a lift.
- All prospective security officer candidates must pass the FFD assessment, which will be administered by the respective hiring / security leader & Employee Health prior to being offered a position.
Qualifications :
HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) - Certification - International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS), Driver's License - Certification - Other / National, Driver License - Certification - North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV), Driver License - Certification - Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (VDMV), HANDLE WITH CARE Certification (HWC) - Certification - Workday LearningSecurity
