Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for our Surgical Unit.

This is a full-time DAY SHIFT position.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse - Bachelor's Degree
• 2 years RN experience

As a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator with Sentara, you can excel in your career. There are many different specialties where you can perform and grow your nursing skills in areas of interest to you. This 42-bed unitspecializesin the care of Adult Surgical Patients. Registered Nurses are assigned to PODs to assist patients recovering from surgeries: Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, GYN Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Trauma Overflow.

While working in this unit you can care for patients that may have renal disease, diabetes, COPD, and heart failure for a well-rounded nursing experience. This is a telemetry-monitored unit.The average patient stay is 3-4 days.

Job Summary

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
