9A is a 16-bed medical /surgical unit that specializes in rehabilitation. Our Nurses are able to gain skills in medical/surgical nursing to include physical assessments, IV therapy, central line care, pain management, provide proper skin, wound vac care, burn trauma care, medication administration, and also help develop goals of care with the interdisciplinary team. (physical, occupational, and speech therapists). We are looking for compassionate nurses to join our team that help can encourage and educate our patients to self-manage and prepare them for a smooth transition to their home setting and the community.
As a Registered Nurse with Sentara, you can excel in your career. There are many different specialties where you can perform and grow your nursing skills in areas of interest to you. If you desire, there are promotional opportunities for leadership or to advance your level of care in a variety of settings. This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients.
