Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia!

This is a flexi (PRN) position with a minimum of 8 hours a week and the opportunity to pick up additional hours when available up to 40 hours a week!

Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia!

Work hours: Rotating shift including every other weekend

• 0600-1430

• 0700-1530

• 0730-1600

• 1100-1930

• 1230-2100

• 1700-0530

• 1930-0730

Required qualifications:

• Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred

• Prior hospital experience preferred

• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred

Job responsibilities:

Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.
