Sensei Wellness Holdings Inc., is Hiring a Lead Massage Therapist Near Rancho Mirage, CA

$24.93/hr base rate / $79.51/hr active rate

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Lead Massage Therapist will directly assist the Spa and Wellness Manager and be responsible for overseeing the therapeutic services department, ensuring the highest standards of care and guest satisfaction. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, consistent communication with the spa & wellness manager, good communication with the other retreat leaders, extensive knowledge of various therapeutic techniques, and a commitment to innovating and creative ideas in order to provide a rejuvenating and transformative experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

  1. Team Leadership:

    • Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers.

    • Provide guidance, support and training to ensure exceptional service delivery at direction of Spa

      & Wellness Manager.

    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, open

      communication and professional growth.

    • Provide feedback and support in the absence of a manager and inform the manager of any

      changes or needs of the team to follow up on upon return.

    • Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify company values and represent

      departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers.

    • Work with the manager to uphold Sensei values within the team.

    • Perform other tasks as requested by Spa Manager or Wellness Director.

    2. Therapeutic Services & Management:

    • Support the day-to-day operations of the therapeutic services department, including treatment scheduling, room cleanliness and maintenance.

    • Maintain and update treatment protocols, ensuring they are in line with industry and Sensei standards.

    • Educate new treatment offerings with other departments.

    • Look for ways to improve upon existing services and protocols.

    • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products used.

    • Perform a variety of therapeutic treatments, including but not limited to massage, bodywork,

      facials and other holistic practices.

    3. Guest Experience:

    • Standardizing the comprehensive assessments of the guest’s needs and recommend suitable treatments & therapies.

    • Ensure that the therapists provide exceptional customer services by addressing guests concerns with management, providing personalized care and maintaining a warm and welcoming environment.

    • Respond to guests’ complaints, questions and concerns in a friendly, timely and efficient manner, while informing management of any needed follow-up.

    • Work with management and team to ensure the confidentiality and security of all guests.

    4. Quality Assurance of Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health, safety and sanitation standards.

    • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and functionality of therapy rooms and equipment, addressing any issues promptly and alerting management of the issues.

    • Conduct regular quality control audits to assess the effectiveness and consistency of therapeutic services and document all data.

    • Always maintain impeccable grooming and personal hygiene and wear uniform as directed.

    • Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor in both verbal and nonverbal communication.

    • Demonstrate warmth and sincerity in all interactions with guests and team.

    • Adhere to all company and departmental guidelines.

    • Be on time for shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the

      appropriate time allotted for the service.

    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with industry regulations, retreat policies and

      best practices. Report any needs to the manager.

    • Report all faulty equipment, supply needs, maintenance needs, safety hazards, injuries, and

      other concerns immediately to your manager.

    • Maintain accountability between the team on quality assurance and report any changes in team

      support, behavior or circumstances to the manager to address.

    • All efforts are being directed towards guest satisfaction, safety, sanitation, proper technical

      procedures and professionalism.

    • Ensure that all necessary equipment is set up prior to each service appointment and cleaned up

      after each guest.

    5. Treatment Design & Development:

    • Collaborate with the retreat wellness team to create and refine therapeutic treatment protocols, incorporating the industries best practices and innovative techniques.

    • Stay up to date on emerging trends in the wellness industry and present new ideas to the manager and wellness team to find creative ways of integrating them into the retreat’s offerings.

    2. Responsible for the training of services and standards and supports the manager in ensuring the upkeep of all SOPs and Protocols.

    • Provide training and mentoring to therapists; sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance their skills and service delivery.

    • Participate in professional development activities, including workshops, conferences and continuously improve your own skills and knowledge.

    • Conduct ongoing training sessions for therapists (during available hours); ensuring that they are knowledgeable about new treatments, techniques and products. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.

    • Successfully complete all training and certifications needed for the position.

    • Have a passion and commitment to continued education.

    8. Collaboration & Communication:

    • Support effective communication and collaboration with other departments, including spa, fitness and guest services, to ensure a seamless guest experience. Actively participate in team meetings, sharing ideas and insights to enhance the overall retreat experience.

    9. Administrative Tasks:

    • Support in and communicate the needs of scheduling, inventory, par levels and supporting in the communication of ordering, communicating supply needs (and ordering related therapy supplies when appropriate), maintain communication and communicate with the manager on arranging training on optimized scheduling with the ES (front desk) team, prepare and maintain data for weekly and month reports on therapy service utilization, guest feedback and other relevant information.

    • Support manager in schedule optimization, balancing the books, ensure coverage and optimal guest experience.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a therapist, with a proven track record of delivering high- quality therapeutic services.

    • Certification or licensure in relevant therapy modalities (ex: massage therapy, aesthetics, holistic practices).

    • Previous experience in leadership within a spa or wellness environment is highly desirable.

    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to do many tasks

      simultaneously.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and

      independent.

    • Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays and evenings as per the retreat’s operational needs.

    • Passion for wellness and a deep understanding of various therapeutic techniques and their

      beliefs.

    • High level of professionalism, integrity and dedication to delivering exceptional customer

      service.

    • Playing a positive and pivotal role as a part of a spa & wellness team committed to providing

      transformative experiences and promoting health and overall well-being.
