Engineering Manager We are searching for an experienced Engineering Manager at our
Irving, TX facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Lead a team to supportmanufacturing, product development (new and current), and overall continuousimprovement for the entire value stream. Improve the business by contributing, supporting,and implementing ideas to enhance processes and practices. Ensure the development of all team members andlead by example to create a positive culture by ensuring a safe workenvironment, always exhibiting honesty, and respecting other people.
Duties andResponsibilities: - Train and develop team members to their full potential
- Create a high performance culture that is focused on delivering customer value
- Manage a team responsible to support manufacturing in the following ways:
- Continual improvement of production processes
- Development of processes that are repeatable and safe
- Training and training methodology
- Timely and accurate routings
- Responsiveness when issues arise during the manufacturing process
- Having and maintaining proper machinery and equipment
- Partner with production supervisor to ensure that standards are sufficient for quality and are being adhered to
- Building quality into the process (Jidoka)
- Support purchasing with vendor quality, first articles, and material testing
- Support product development process in developing, implementing, testing, and transitioning new designs to production
- Assist in responding to and eliminating warranty and quality issues that arise
Understand and promote Senneca mission and values at all times and ensure that safety policies and procedures are followed - Exhibit respectful behavior and communication at all times
Effectively use metrics and visual management systems to define, measure, and improve performance to both internal and external customers and ensure customer satisfaction - Continually develop and train on new skills and processes
- Lead or participate in improvement events
- Be flexible with work schedule as necessary to get expected results
- Be aware of, and escalate any personnel issues to Manager and HR Director as needed
- Other duties as assigned
PreferredKnowledge, Skills & Attributes: •Mastery of 5S, waste elimination, and other lean principles
•Ability to use and create 2D and 3D drawings (SolidWorks and CAD)
•Problem solving root cause analysis and corrective action
•Develop in depth knowledge of product line and processes
•Fluent in English
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups such as engineering, sales, etc.
Required Qualifications: RequiredTraining & Tools/Equipment Experience: Design software such as CAD and SolidWorks, maintenance software, etc.
Microsoft Office Suite and ERP
Machinery, equipment, and measuring tools appropriate to the manufacturing environment
RequiredEducation & Experience: 4 Year Degree from accredited college or university in relevant field.
Minimum Experience: 2-5 years ofengineering within a manufacturing environment, 2 or more years of management experience withina manufacturing environment
