General Description: Under general supervision, performs various tasks relating to the transport of passengers in passenger vans.

Typical Duties / Responsibilities:

• Operates a passenger van safely and efficiently
• Follows specific regularly scheduled routes, or responds to requests from dispatch or management for unscheduled pick‑ups or drop-offs
• Provides elbow to elbow assistance to passengers in boarding and exiting vehicle, and as needed to destination
• Loads and unloads, packages and other items
• Communicates with call center/dispatch in a professional manner via 2-way radio
• Reports accidents or other safety situations to dispatch and supervisor according to established procedure
• Counts fare and reconciles with manifest. Deposits fare daily at STC depot
• Performs accurate, efficient and thorough vehicle inspections at beginning and end of each shift. Documents pre-trip inspection.
• Responsible for ensuring inside and outside of vehicle are properly cleaned and fueled on an ongoing basis. Keeps interior of vehicle neat and orderly.
• Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage on a vehicle repair form and submits to supervisor
• Treats all clients and other persons in a courteous, friendly and professional manner
• Attend and participate in all required employee trainings and meetings
• Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions
• Also may be required to perform other related duties as requested

Physical Capabilities

• Lift up to 20 pounds repeatedly
• Maneuver wheelchairs up and down ramps/over curbs
• Bend/stoop to the floor to secure a wheelchair or other items/devices
• Sit in a driver seat for long periods of time
• Walk long distances
