Caregiver / Personal Care Assistant

The Job Description outlines your primary responsibilities as a caregiver. This Job Description is not meant to be an exhaustive list of services, as the exact duties to be performed for each assignment will vary. Prior to beginning a new assignment, Senior Helpers will provide you with background information about your client and review any special needs your client may have.

Objective: To provide professional caregiving services and to help clients maintain their independence and to assist them with household and family support services.

Primary Responsibilities

· Companionship & conversation

· Light housekeeping

· Errands

· Apparel selection

· Meal planning & preparation

· Laundry & linen changing

· Transportation

Requirements

· Pass and submit 20-40 hours of yearly training

· If chest x-ray is on file, you must keep it current and submit a yearly TB Screening Form

· Maintain a valid driver’s license with no serious driving violations

· Maintain current automobile insurance and ensure that you are properly covered to use

· your vehicle for errands and transportation

· Pass a criminal background check for employment

· Pass a yearly skills assessment conducted with an RN

· Report any significant care plan or client status changes with the office immediately

· Document activities in the Care Plan Book daily and notify office of changes

· Record daily hours worked and daily services performs on a timesheet

· Follow policies and procedures as outlined in our Employee Handbook and Code of Ethics

· Wear a name badge and appropriate dress code to all assignments unless otherwise directed

· Have a working phone and voicemail to receive work

· Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect

· Ability to read, write, and speak English at an average adult level

· Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
