Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using standardized testing and observation methods to identify students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students facing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges, fostering a supportive school environment
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) tailored to students' unique needs and goals
- Offer consultation and guidance to school staff on strategies for supporting students' social-emotional development, classroom management, and crisis intervention
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, intervention strategies, and educational placements, ensuring a holistic approach to student support
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on mental health awareness, positive behavior support, and effective communication strategies, fostering understanding and collaboration within the school community
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and legal regulations related to special education and school psychology, engaging in ongoing professional development to support diverse student populations
Qualifications
- Valid California Pupil Personnel Services credential with advanced specialization in School Psychology
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations; general education curriculum; response to intervention principles; disabilities and appropriate curriculum; behavior management systems
- Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
- Ability to work as a member of multi-disciplinary team
- Valid California driver's license, insurability through Seneca's automobile policy
Schedule
- In person school based schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4 PM
- 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and additional paid school break days
Benefits
- Starting at $89,095-$103,095 per year, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
- $2000 sign-on bonus (for new Seneca employees in this position)
- Salary increase upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam
