The Occupational Therapist (OT) observes and evaluates the need for school-based occupational therapy services for students who meet eligibility criteria. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist provides quality services to students and their families at various school sites. The Seneca team takes a collaborative, culturally diverse approach aligning academic, behavioral, and therapeutic supports to design a unique plan of academic success for each student.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy initial assessments and reassessments for children with occupational therapy needs
• Document evaluations in a thorough and professional manner that meets Seneca’s standards of excellence, as well as standards in the field
• Provide occupational therapy services to students in support of their needs and treatment goals
• Work with students to develop their gross and fine motor skills, sensory motor regulations, as well as their posture and movement
• Work collaboratively with other Seneca staff members including, Speech and Language Pathologists, Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists, Clinicians, and Student Support Assistants
• Provide in-depth occupational therapy consultation for teachers, providing professional insights for early OT interventions for their students
• Assist in providing in-service training in gross and fine motor skills, sensory motor regulations, as well as posture and movement to parents, teachers, administrators and other professionals and paraprofessionals regarding occupational therapy
• Assist in coordinating, communicating and seeking consultation with community agencies as appropriate
• Travel to multiple school sites to provide services
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the program director and/or assistant program director

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in occupational therapy
  • Current license by the California Board of Occupational Therapy
• Proof of liability insurance
• Experience with language techniques, sensory motor integration, and physical restoration
• Clearance of TB test, fingerprinting, and any other State/Federal requirements
• Own vehicle, valid California Drivers License and insurance
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Schedule

• School based schedule:
  • Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4 PM
  • 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and additional paid school break days

• Starting at $82,915-$96,915.per year, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
