Overview

The Information Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing technical systems and procedures to safeguard Seneca computer networks and information systems. The Information Security Engineer will identify areas of risk, recommend plans to mitigate risks and execute such plans.

Responsibilities

• Stay abreast of the latest threats toward and vulnerabilities known in the industry.
• Identify threats and vulnerabilities of particular concern to SFA
• Formulate recommendations for mitigating identified threats and vulnerabilities
• Prioritize critical areas to address in order to make most effective use of a limited budget
• Develop security standards and best practices for use within Seneca
• Identify products and services for potential use in mitigating threats and vulnerabilities
• Implement products, services and/or measures for protection of SFA information resources and monitoring for breaches
• Monitor output of cybersecurity monitoring tools. Analyze for concerning activity patterns. Investigate, respond and/or escalate as appropriate.
• In the event of data breach, conduct technical and forensic investigation in order to report size and scope of breach as well as to produce recommendations for recovery and future mitigation.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelors Degree required.
• Experience with and knowledge of security-related tools such as anti-virus, firewalls, content filtering, intrusion detection systems.
• Knowledge of risk assessment processes, tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of and experience with disaster recovery tools and methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to research, plan, develop and implement information security policies, procedures and toolsets.
• Prior experience in a system administration capacity, responsible for managing networks, services and other backend IT infrastructure.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Has a strong attention to detail.
• Problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement and work toward goals with minimal supervision.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements.
• Proof of COVID 19 Vaccination.

Schedule

• Full-time
  • Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm

• Starting at $94,760 to $108,760 per year, actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications.
