Seneca Academy, a dynamic, tight-knit, caring school community, is seeking a creative, energetic Elementary Associate Teacher to join a team of dedicated educators. Seneca Academy is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program World School in Darnestown, Maryland and serves preschool through fifth grade students. Our self-contained classes do not exceed 16 students and average 8-12 students. Our inquiry-based curriculum teaches children to think deeply, communicate effectively, and interact positively. Therefore, individuals with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a lead teacher; actively engage students in the learning process in both small and large groups under the direction of a lead teacher; participate in or supervise lunch, snack, and playground activities as assigned; participate in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in the classroom; and manage behavior in a nurturing and affirming manner are encouraged to apply. Candidates with at least one year of classroom experience are strongly preferred. Pay is commensurate with experience.
