SENDCAA (Southeastern North Dakota Community Action Agency) is dedicated to supporting people to alleviating poverty and achieving self-sufficiency through a variety of programs.

The Behavior Support Aide assists with the implementation of a Head Start Birth to Five classroom. The position will support the classroom in handling challenging behaviors, social skill needs, and providing cognitive development.

Below are the essential duties of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

1. Participates in coaching process as assigned to promote positive, effective learning environments for children.

2. Ability to take on tasks such as: leading small group activities, reading aloud, transitioning children from one activity to another, and leading large group at supervisor’s request.

3. Ability to conduct social and emotional skill building with children in both one-on-one and small group situations.

4. Become familiar with and implement a child’s Behavior Support Plan appropriately.

5. Assist classroom staff by supervising children in classroom/bathroom.

6. Assists in educational and enrichment activities such as reading, painting, imaginary play, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.71 - $18.56 per hour
