Sempra Services Corporation is Hiring a Senior LNG Process Engineer Near Port Arthur, TX

Primary Purpose

The Senior Process Engineer is primarily responsible for providing technical support and guidance for the detailed design, construction, commissioning, start-up and stable operation phases of the Port Arthur Liquefaction Facility for Sempra Infrastructure.

The Operations Process Engineer will support Ready for Operations (RFO) activities for the Gas Pre-treatment, Liquefaction, Storage and Loading and Utilities areas of the facility. This includes providing technical support, reviewing operating procedures, troubleshooting, and guidance for safe execution and operation.

During the Operate Phase, the Senior Process Engineer will provide day-to-day support the Operations team to ensure safe and reliable production, whilst identifying and supporting optimization and improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proficient in Process Engineering principles/techniques. Understands technical concepts in related engineering disciplines (Instrumentation & Controls, Electrical, Rotating and Mechanical).
  • General knowledge of discipline-specific industry codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Understanding of an LNG Operations plant life cycle. Basic knowledge of project development, safe work processes and CSU (Commissioning and Startup).
  • Knowledge of LNG Technology and other renewable energy technologies. (APCI technology preferred)
  • Experience with the startup, operations and troubleshooting of LNG Operations
  • Knowledge of implementing LNG plant optimization plans and energy efficiency process and projects
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team at an operating LNG facility, including Operations, Maintenance, Regulatory/Compliance, and commercial Ops.
  • Ability to understand Sempra work practices, policies, and procedures and how to apply them.
  • Good communication skills and works well in a diverse team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical Engineer or related discipline.
  • 7 years of experience in Energy or LNG Industry Operations Support.
  • LNG / Renewables Facility Commissioning, Start-up and Operations Support experience.

  • Must have the ability to read and understand P&ID's

  • Experience with the startup, operations and troubleshooting of LNG Operations

  • Extensive knowledge of LNG process (APCI preferred), equipment performance & operations (Pre-treatment, Liquefaction, Storage and Loading and Utilities
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
