Sempra Services Corporation is Hiring a Senior Counsel - Regulatory Near Houston, TX

Primary Purpose
To develop, coordinate, supervise and administer the provision of complex legal services for Sempra Renewables and Sempra LNG & Midstream under the direction of the Director - Regulatory (for regulatory work) and the Assistant General Counsel (for transactional and general legal work).
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide general legal support of a highly complex and/or sensitive nature to the Business Unit or other client groups as assigned.
  • Interact with the Business Unit executives and upper management of other client groups.
  • Communicate all significant information about the client to lawyers in the Legal Dept. so they can serve the business unit effectively.
  • May include supervision and training responsibility for less experienced attorneys or other paralegal or Legal Dept. staff.
  • Coordinate, implement and monitor legal services in respect of highly complex and/or sensitive transactions as such transactions are specifically assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Education
  • JD (Juris Doctor) J.D. or LL.M from an accredited law school Required
Experience
  • 7 Relevant experience managing legal services for complex transactions. Required
Skills and Abilities
  • Must have excellent legal analysis, writing, and communications skills.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Member in good standing of the California Bar or another U.S Jurisdiction. Required
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
