The primary responsibility for a nurse in the Semmes Murphey Surgery Center is to assist physicians during surgical procedures, and supervise and direct patient care before, during and after surgery. This includes charting, preparing rooms/instruments, patient education, and developing a plan of care. There are opportunities for both circulating and preop/PACU RNs.
The typical hours for this position would be Monday - Friday with start times around 6am and ending anywhere from 2pm-4pm.

Requirements
We are looking for someone who can:

• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient
• Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician
• Organizes nursing activities efficiently
• Assists with inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels
• Develops a plan of care for the patient based on assessment data and implements admission care (e.g., evaluates chart, administers medication)

Education, Experience & Credentials
Minimum Requirements:

• Associates Degree from an accredited school of nursing
• One (1) year of experience

Certifications & Credentials:

• Active Registered Nurse License in Tennessee
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
