Semmes. Bowen & Semmes is Hiring a Remote Worker's Compensation Attorney

Semmes, Bowen & Semmes has an immediate opening in our Hagerstown office for an associate with 2 years' experience in Worker's Compensation and Employers' Liability. Qualified candidates must be barred in MD and PA. Candidates that are admitted to other jurisdictions such as WV, DC, and VA are encouraged to apply. We are looking for candidates that have insurance defense, workers' compensation and/or personal injury experience.

We offer a flexible work environment with options for hybrid and remote work. Semmes is a paperless office with personal laptops provided for attorneys.

Qualifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in MD and PA.
  • 2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense law.
  • Strong understanding of MD and PA workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Experience with employer liability claims a plus.
  • Licensure in other jurisdictions is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidates should possess strong academic credentials and excellent research, writing and communication skills and have the ability to work independently.
  • The position requires the ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and handle a high volume of cases.
  • The desired candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
