DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Director, Financial Aid Systems/Project Liaison plans, develops, and coordinates appropriate testing, communications, and training for the College’s Enterprise Resource Processing (ERP). Supervises financial aid technical team. Serves as a functional team lead, coordinating subject matter expertise with other departments within the college while ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to project timelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plans, directs, and conducts the development, testing, and implementation of new/upgraded modules, related systems, and interfaces.
2. Manages from concept through implementation large-scale key financial aid projects and initiatives.
3. Develops and disseminates communications and training for the delivery of campus-wide student aid programs and initiatives.
4. Supervises technical team, including hiring, scheduling, coaching, mentoring, training and development, and performance evaluation.
5. Collects, analyzes, and reports on Oracle student financial planning and Peoplesoft data, issues, and trends/patterns.
6. Coordinates operational system troubleshooting, resolution, and reporting of issues.
7. Monitors, manages, and responds to CTS by providing solutions to issues/problems within prescribed timeframe.
8. Coordinates and consults on security classes for system and operator-level security.
9. Completes governmental and institutional required financial aid reports and responds to ad-hoc financial aid data requests.
10. Leads as the functional financial aid expert while ensuring compliance with regulatory and College policies and procedures.
11. Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in student administration, higher education, business, finance, or related field.
2. Four years of increasingly professional experience in financial aid in higher education.
3. Two years of supervisory experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience in Oracle/PeopleSoft Campus Solutions modules.
2. Experience with system conversions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. In-depth and current knowledge of Title IV federal aid regulations proposed legislation, policies, practices, and resources that impact financial aid programs.
2. Demonstrated skills with a financial aid computer system.
3. Ability to understand the operational calendar.
4. Knowledge of the community college philosophy and system of higher education.
5. Student-centered mindset and basic knowledge of college resources for students.
6. Ability to foster creativity and be responsive to innovative ideas.
7. Ability to multi-task, manage projects, and prioritize high-priority assignments.
8. Ability to provide leadership and develop, manage, and train staff.
9. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
10. Excellent analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
11. Excellent skills in using databases, student information systems, and Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and the ability to become proficient with videoconferencing (e.g. Teams/Zoom) and work-related applications.
12. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, outside governmental and community agencies, and the public.
13. Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
14. Committed to working in a multicultural environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Works inside in an office environment.
2. Travels in and outside the state for conferences and meetings.
3. Must be able to work flexible hours and days.

Conditions of Employment

Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will be conducted for all new employees, and for rehired employees who have had a break in service for one year or more. The Office of Human Resources will determine which background checks shall be conducted for each position, based upon its review of job descriptions and the responsibilities of the position. These include, but are not limited to, positions that have access to money, master keys, security-sensitive areas and confidential information; positions that have the capability to create, delete, and alter records; and positions that are responsible for the care and instruction of children. The College will conduct various types of background checks which may include, but are not limited to: criminal background, credit check, driver's license check, previous employment and references.
