Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead the accounting process set up for new projects, acquisitions and Joint Ventures
Liaison between cross-functional corporate teams (e.g., accounting, finance, operations, project management, development, purchasing, legal) and local team of newly acquired businesses
Assist with chart of account mapping, cash reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, Inter-company balancing and reviewing overheads (until fully integrated) analyze results, identify root cause issues, and provide resolutions to management
Accounting for pre-opening vs. post-close charges on respective trial balance
Assist with post-acquisition and /or pre-opening as needed to ensure integration aligns into the corporate structure
Analyze fluctuations in Corporate Overhead and P&L reports from budget and prior periods, trend analysis.
Performs full-cycle accounting duties; month-end and year-end close, and cross-functionally working with other groups
Assist with accounting for corporate shared services costs and allocations to subsidiaries.
Detailed account analysis and reconciliation for inter-company accounts to include international and multi-currency transactions
Resolves account discrepancies by researching, verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions;
Efficiently communicates and works with internal departments to obtain information as required
Mentor, train and motivate staff accountants and promote teamwork
Required to maintain functions in accordance with finance policies and practices, GAAP, FASB and other internal control standards
Keeps current any departmental check list or procedures
Documenting new business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
Assists with internal and external audit reviews, and other special projects
Demonstrated accountability and adaptability to change with experience working in a high-growth, fast paced organization
Work with the systems support team to drive financial systems improvements and support systems conversions
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Present a professional image to employees, guests, clients, owners and investors
Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times and maintains high moral.
Operates ethically to protect the Hard Rock Group image
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Masters and CPA preferred
Minimum seven (7) or more years of accounting experience
Experience with M&A and Development Projects
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel required
Must possess excellent time management skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical skills
Intermediate to advance knowledge of major accounting software packages. Infinium system knowledge preferred
Ability to work under changing priorities and with firm deadlines
Capable of handling advanced accounting concepts with minimal supervision and ability to work within deadlines
Must have knowledge of, and be able to apply, U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
