Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, incumbent is responsible for planning and implementing all of the property’s promotions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

May include but are not limited to:

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
  • Execute sophisticated gaming tournaments, giveaways and other promotions.
  • Ensure operational success of event and execution within gaming regulations.
  • Management of promotions teams to deliver a high level of guest service, speed and integrity within all events.
  • Plan, produce and maintain an on-going schedule of promotions.
  • Develop theme, format and rules for specific promotions.
  • Maintain promotions and events budget on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Develop proformas for new promotions, review the results of past promotions and events and make recommendations for the feasibility of repeating or modifying those promotions.
  • Act as master of ceremonies as needed.
  • Oversee expenditures to ensure budget requirements are met.
  • Coordinate all décor requirements for promotions.
  • Communicate all events information to operating departments to ensure timely coordination of all promotions.
  • Determine staffing needs and work schedules necessary to implement promotions.
  • Works with the Director of Marketing to ensure public awareness of events.
  • Develop contacts at area attractions to keep abreast of events in the market.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in the marketplace that may impact the nature of promotions planned at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
  • Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, corrective counseling, etc.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Conduct personal behavior and select, train, coach, counsel, appraise and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company’s Mission and Values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion and Dedication.
  • Demonstrate commitment to assisting in the development of Seminole Tribe members participating in the Tribal Career Development program and, when a Seminole Tribe member’s assignment falls within your direct area of responsibility, act as a personal mentor/career advisor to the Tribe Member and submit progress reports and information to the Director of Tribal Development.
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Establishes an effective working relationship with all operating departments.
  • Instrumental in developing Casino Promotions, working closely with the Advertising, Player’s Club, and Database Departments, and Director of Casino Marketing.
  • Works with the Advertising Department to develop concepts, creative, and messaging regarding each Promotion.
  • Responsible for the following aspects in creating promotions: developing theme and associated creative concepts; developing prize structure with appropriate mix of hard and soft costs; and completing pro forma financial analysis of each Promotion’s reinvestment and associated expenses. Partners with the Advertising Department and Communications Manager regarding the production of Promotional Displays on the Casino Floor.
  • Works with Director of Casino Marketing, Database Department, and Advertising Department to establish Production Schedules for the Sprint, Resort, and Palm Newsletters. Leads production of creative layouts of Newsletters, working with the Advertising and Database Departments, and external vendors.
  • Interacts and directs departments involved with Promotions, to coordinate and review all details related to each promotion.
  • Responsible for coordination and distribution of tickets to entertainment primarily for comp casino customers, and for other customers.
  • Responsible for ensuring that team members are accurate in registration of players in all promotions and/or giveaways.
  • Responsible for overseeing team in developing and executing major flagship Promotional Shopping Events, which are play-based. The incumbent must ensure that items have high value proposition, while falling within budgetary constraints, and that overall reinvestment is profitable.
  • Prepares operational fact sheets for coordinating departments to ensure smooth execution.
  • Oversees team whom works with Purchasing Department to obtain Promotional Prizes, which may include, but not be limited to, electronics, automobiles, and recreational vehicles.
  • Responsible for overseeing promotional aspects of various Sports and Commercial Partnerships, including but not limited to development and execution of promotions at sporting events.
  • Works in tandem with other departments during functions to ensure appropriate execution.
  • Communicates with other departments including but not limited to, Player Development, Players Club, Hotel Operations, and Food & Beverage to assist them with any needs they may have.
  • Acts as a liaison between departments before and during promotions, and outside vendors as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

    • Bachelors’ Degree in related field required. Three (3) years experience in casino promotions and/or special events required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Must be detail oriented.
    • Effective time management skills, along with the ability to forecast time management needs of others is required.
    • Ability to read and understand all Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
    • Must be able to complete standard Seminole Tribe of Florida forms and reports.
    • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
    • Must be able to analyze Marketing and Promotions data.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word is required.
    • Must apply for, obtain and remain eligible for the appropriate Seminole Tribal Gaming License.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • The working conditions are those typically found in an indoor, climate controlled office environment. Will be exposed to casino related factors including but not limited to second hand smoke, excessive noise, large crowds and stress related to servicing guests in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
    • Must be able to continuously maneuver around the office and property, often standing for long hours.
    • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
    • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment.
    • Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 30 lbs and able to bend, reach and stoop on a limited basis.

First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
