We are searching for a nurturing Early Learning support staff to ensure that the basic and educational needs of our students are met. Works with teachers to promote the educational and social development of the children. Prefer a person with experience in a early learning center and child care.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and serving meals
• Assisting with Hygiene needs (diapering, hand washing, changing clothes)
• Closely monitoring the children and reporting concerning behavior to lead teacher/admin
• Works with teacher to ensure organization of free play corresponds to scheduled structured activities
• Attends staff meetings, training meetings, and yearly open house even if scheduled outside working hours.
• Greets parents and children, assists in making a smooth transition
• Encouraging self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement.
• Encouraging the exploration of interests and developmental social skills

Requirements:

• 18 years or older
• Ability to pass a portal background check through DCYF.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs
• Current Infant/Child CPR/1st Aid Card (obtain within first month of employment)
• HIV/Aids Awareness class (obtain within first month of employment)
• Negative TB Test (before starting employment)
• Stars Basic Training (obtain within first 2 months of employment)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
