Dialysis Tech/Nursing Assistant

Full Time

Shift: 7a-7p

Monday/Wednesday/Friday with occasional weekends required

$2,500 sign on bonus

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, operates, and monitors hemodialysis machines and systems to provide dialysis treatment for patient with kidney failure.
  • Attaches dialyzer and tubing to machine to assemble for use.
  • Mixes dialysate, according to formula.
  • Initiates dialysis via approved accesses, overserves all safety measures, takes and monitors patient vital signs, administers fluid therapy or other appropriate treatments as directed, and documents activity appropriately.
  • Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations for patient care and services.
  • Reviews dialysis orders, notes general physical and mental condition of patient through observations and interview; documents observations.
  • Observes dialysis machines and RO water system for correct functioning, responds to visual and audible alarms, and makes appropriate adjustments before, during, and after the dialysis treatment.
  • Monitors patient for adverse reactions.
  • Dismantles, cleans, and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment.

As a Nursing Assistant (NA), you will be working alongside highly skilled clinicians and some of the best critical care nurses in the country. You will work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse and perform routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided.

  • Performing services for the patient involving bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair.
  • Answering patient lights and performing services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient.
  • Participating in hourly rounds.
  • Transporting patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary; assisting transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs.
  • Keeping the patient’s rooms in clean and orderly condition, including making beds.
  • Maintaining unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Either: Valid state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
    • At least two (2) years of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
  • OR High School diploma or G.E.D. and at least 6 months' experience as hemodialysis technician and:
  • Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS) approved state and/or national certification.
  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician.
  • Meets necessary requirements of Ishihara’s Color Blindness Test.
  • BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 months of experience in related field (EMT, Surgical Tech, Army, Phlebotomists, and Technicians) preferred.
  • Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
  • BONENT certification preferred
  • Ability to float to Cincinnati or Fort Thomas, KY based on coverage needs
