Select Medical is Hiring a Director of Communications - Critical Illness Recovery Near Mechanicsburg, PA

Overview

The director of communications for critical illness recovery hospitals (CIRH) will develop, execute and drive marketing and communications initiatives for the company’s 100 critical illness recovery hospitals.

Reporting to the vice president of strategic communications for specialty hospitals, this individual will partner closely with hospital leaders and colleagues across the Communications & Branding (C&B) Department to create compelling print and digital content that supports divisional and hospital business priorities and objectives.

This person will play a significant role in the ongoing facilitation of communications alignment for the CIRH division, as well partnering with other C&B division leads, as it relates to executing a cohesive strategy and messaging across Select Medical’s continuum of care.

Vice President, Strategic Communications, Specialty Hospitals

Location:

Mechanicsburg, PA

Hybrid work environment; required to be on campus T, W, Th.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, manage and drive communications initiatives for CIRHs
  • Create content for all mediums/platforms to support divisional and hospital business priorities
  • Write patient success stories; manage review/approval/publish process
  • Develop social media campaigns in collaboration with social media manager
  • Integrate and stand up new joint venture hospitals
  • Develop best practices for content creation, revisions and maintenance
  • Draft division-level internal presentations, scripts, talking points, announcements
  • Serve as co-editor of quarterly newsletters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a marketing-communications field
  • Superior news writing/editing skills a must
  • Command of AP Style
  • Proven track record in objective setting and performance management
  • Exhibit exceptional verbal communication skills
  • Effectively collaborate with and influence key stakeholders
  • Embody strong team player mentality
