The Warehouse - Receiving Supervisor is responsible for organizing and monitoring the receiving, sizing, and inventory of raw unprocessed product. This position also includes the supervision of proper storage, incoming product fumigation, progression of bin maintenance, while maintaining inventory accuracy in the system. Responsible for balancing hourly workforce assignments, promoting safety and quality in receiving and all warehouse areas. This supervisory role requires close communication with various other department leads.
Expected to perform daily job duties under minimal supervision while reporting any Inventory or sizing issues to the Production Manager/Plant Manager. Ensures continuous safe operations of all receiving, sizing and warehouse areas.
If an absence in this position occurs, the General Manager, or designated employee, assumes the duties and responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises the receiving warehouse team including inventory, personnel, and housekeeping to ensure compliance with company policies.
Supervises and oversees the daily completion of forklift and tractor pre- inspection logs.
Supervises all inbound grower receipts, CDFA, and proper USDA guidelines are followed.
Works closely with the Logistic Manager for coordination of all intercompany transfers.
Supervises proper storage and fumigation progress of all grower-received inventory.
Maintains a clear and concise understanding of all on site Raw inventory.
Supervise the unloading of raw product into the receiving department, ensures product is staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received.
Supervises the movement of raw inventory between fumigation and all warehouse locations.
Responsible for the employee performance, accuracy of inventory, reporting, and the movement and storage of product and transfer to production.
Responsible for the supervision of the receiving and ware housing staff, including training, evaluations, disciplinary actions as well as maintaining a lead by example mentality.
Ensures receiving and warehouse department employees follow all company policies and safety expectations.
Maintains a safe expectation to all department employees while operating material handling equipment and the transport of product and materials.
Continuously re-evaluates storage, department layout and equipment for continuous improvements in accordance with plant manager’s inventory site/system plan.
Coaches the receiving team towards common objectives
Ability to safely and effectively operate a forklift and tractor
Other duties may include:
Working on special projects as assigned by Management
Responsible for upholding all Food Safety, Quality, & People Safety policies and regulations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by Management.
Ensure that warehouse functions are performed in a safe, accurate, and economical manner
Operate a sit-down, pallet truck, and stand-up forklift.
Maintain a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and follow the directions of management
Maintain the facility in a clean and orderly fashion.
Follows all LOTO policies and procedures.
Follow written and verbal instructions
Understand and comply with SQF, HACCP, GMP and Standard Operating procedures, requirements and process
Skills and Abilities
Full understanding of Nutware and inventory control
Self-motivated, detail oriented, able to work at a fast pace
Reliable, honest and able to understand the importance of attendance
Qualifications and/or Experience
· Previous experience in warehouse or production lead
· Current forklift OSHA certification
· RF Inventory Scanner systems
· Basic computer skills
· Written and system documentations
· Pallet patterns/ties and full pallet configuration
· Safe Work Habits
· Follow written and verbal instructions
· Effectively communicate
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Able to work up to 12-hour days as need/overtime as scheduled
· 5 years previous forklift experience
