Seiler Instrument Company, headquartered in St. Louis, is currently seeking a motivated, success-oriented NC Programmer/Estimator for our Manufacturing division. This position is responsible for developing, correcting and maintaining CNC programs as well as preparing estimates for quoting purposes. To optimize programming and estimate effectively, the incumbent must have a thorough working knowledge of modern machine shop practices. Must also possess strong communication skill and provide good documentation to support machine shop applications.

Responsibilities include:

• Analyze drawings and solid models of precision parts to determine the most efficient sequence of operations required for machining.
• Evaluate costing data to project production costs of new products and to prepare estimates for current and prospective customers.
• Design fixturing and define tooling necessary for production.
• Observes first article production and inspection to verify process is followed and results are conforming.
• Stay current with changing technologies of respective industries and apply information to current and new projects.
• Ensure ISO, safety and other management systems are in compliance as adopted by the company and department.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED, with minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar field is preferred.
• Formal Mastercam training preferred but not required. Experience with Mastercam and/or equivalent acceptable.
• Experience estimating cost in manufacturing aerospace parts.
• Extensive knowledge of fixturing and machining principles utilizing NC machines is essential for this position.
• Knowledge of materials and their machining characteristics.
• Fluent in current release of Mastercam programming software preferred.
• Solidworks experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills
