Job Description
SEG Manufacturing Inc is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX.
Position Summary:
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the daily operation of our freight brokerage services. This position will be responsible for managing, inbound and outbound shipment, and maintaining accurate records of shipments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transportation and an interest in improving efficiency of operations. This position will also be responsible for assisting with customer service and data entry tasks. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
Essential Duties:
- Support on forecasting, coordinating, scheduling and planning with operations and sales team on weekly basis.
- Communicate with oversea SEG counterpart and factories to get the latest production and shipment updates.
- Track and Trace: PO maintenance/final loading/import tracking/recheck routing emails for accuracy.
- Communicate with assigned Custom Brokers on clearance status and delivery assignment status.
- Communicate with 3PL on warehouse inventory and shipment release.
- Work with logistics service providers on domestic trucking rates and arrangements.
- Maintaining weekly warehouse inventory and sales orders.
Required Skills:
- 5 years plus of knowledge in logistics (supply chain knowledge is a plus)
- International Shipping (Import Ocean Container Freight) experience is required.
- Drayage and FTL experience
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Most be proficient in Excel
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment while still delivery quality customer service
- Travel 1-3 times per year
- College degree or equivalent
