SEEDS, which stands for Social Emotional Education & Development of Self, is a proven educational program dedicated to the social and emotional well-being of children and adults. Students learn to manage and regulate their emotions, which leads to deeper interpersonal relationships, greater self-esteem, and dramatic, measurable improvements in the classroom and beyond. We are located in San Rafael, CA, and services provided are primarily in Marin County.

Role Description

This is a part-time position and includes flexible hours. The SELS will work directly with children to support their social-emotional social and emotional well-being through personalized, 1-to-1 guidance. The SELS will help children develop their emotional skills, gain independence and boost their confidence. You will track children's progress, communicate with parents/guardians, teachers and other stakeholders as needed. SEEDS' training methodology has foundations in the RULER Approach, which was first developed through the Child Study Center at the Yale School of Medicine.

Qualifications

• Experience working with and/or teaching children.
• Ability to work with neurodiverse populations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience in the arts is helpful.
• Ability to work well children, teachers and families.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology is a plus or combination of experience.
• Experience working in education or social-emotional support is highly desirable.

Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
